| Hello, my name is Soth13. I'm the admin and owner of an Acmlm Board for a birding society called the Society of Orion. Recently we have been hacked twice and a person spammed our board making thousands of unwanted users. I'm wondering if anyone here could shed some light on this event as we tracedthe IP address to this board here.
We are a small organization with limited funds and this costs us a LOT of money every time this person does that to clean it up. Its not funny and really its quite sad because our organization has some real potential and this individual could ruin it for us. So please if anyone can help us locate the jerk who is doing this to us it would be greatly appreciated. And if you are the person doing this to us I beg of you to find another place to practice your trade. A simple birding organization has no qualms with you and we just want to be left alone. | Hello. I am so sorry for what happened. I'm not for sure who could have hacked your board, but GamingG I will do everything we can to find who it was. He may know more of what happened, so I'll ask him as soon as I can about it. I hope that we do find who did this and that peace may be set back to your board once again. | |||

I'm wondering if there isn't a grudge between someone here and our board sysop. Our board sysop is active in the Rom Hacking circles and I find this place to be a place he would be comfortable in. He is also the type of person to "rub people" the wrong way sometimes and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he started a little war with someone here. So I would like to add to my plee that whoever is doing this isn't angering him its making him money. He is a paid outsource to our organization. Everytime this persons hacks our board we have to pay him (as per our contract) to have him come in and clean it out. So in reality this hacker is just making our sysop richer and our birders poorer. But thanks again for the kind response and I hope we can resolve this issue as quickly as possible. As long as we are on friendly terms with each other would you be interested in doing a little cultural exchange between our two boards? Kind of start up our own network of Acmlm boards? | Okay, but just to let you know that it spawns an IP address for here and that can point the fingers at the wrong people. Luckily I'm the first one here and i'm a bit more level headed and understanding about this situation. The next Acmlm board owner might not be so forgiving.
Rule #1 of hacking is to make sure you leave no trace of yourself. But thanks for the info. |
