I'm now trying out a new ad network that I believe should make everyone happy. Project Wonderful allows advertisers to bid on ad space, and the ad goes to the highest bidder. Advertisers will be happier because they get the lowest possible price that will allow them to win the auction at that moment--even if that price is ridiculously cheap, like $0.05 per day or even $0... completely free! Forum users will be happier with these ads because they're much less annoying that the old ones, and they should be much more interesting as far as content goes. If you see any ads that you think are interesting, visit their sites! Advertisers aren't charged any extra for clicks or views, so don't worry about that too much. Now there are no problems with putting slashes in thread titles. Turns out it was a little bug involving Apache's treatment of certain characters as special (namely, forward slashes), even if they are url encoded. Fixed now. |

I made Pwned Galaxy use gzip encoding on all HTML pages, so now things should go a lot faster. I coded this change because I noticed that this thread was taking a long time to load just because of it's massive text size. That particular page goes from 125kb to about 24kb of data, so it should load about 5 times as fast. Other threads won't have as much of a speed increase, as only large amounts of text will have a noticable difference. For anyone who knows how to check HTTP response headers, look at the Content-Length and X-Uncompressed-Length headers that can be found on each page to see how much this new change has effected things. |

Yeah, I tried to pay the hosting bill at the last minute and had a technical problem with 2Checkout. Thankfully, my host was nice enough to cancel the old recurring order and re-invoice me, avoiding the technical trouble with changing the billing information on the old order. Anyway, we should be good for quite some time now. |

First, I hacked together a horribly fake hack spoof using my randomness and Sarial's graveyard image, set to activate on the beginning of April Fool's Day. Then, at about 12:40 AM on April Fool's, someone actually hacked the board  . Anyway, everything is fixed now, and, in the end, I think I'm the only one that was April Fooled. There'll probably be a thread about this, so check there for a screenshot of what happened and such. |
